You are retiring, congratulations, and now it's time to downsize and potentially sell your home. Listen, you've been in your home a long time, and maybe you haven't done a lot of things to the house. There are three things that could make an incredible difference if you're thinking about selling your home.

1. Start with the kitchen.

The kitchen is the heart of the home. Everybody wants to be in a really nice kitchen. And there are simple things we could do. We could change the knobs, we could do some painting, and we could change some light fixtures. So there are some really simple, easy things that can be done to update your kitchen.

2. Think about your curb appeal.

When a buyer drives up and they drive by, their first impression is, "What does that look like?" What does the front door look like? Is it painted? Is it clean? What does your yard look like? We understand that the grass is brown, but let's hope that all this rain has turned it green. But for the most part, think about your curb appeal.

3. Neutralize your walls.

Depending on when you painted your home or remodeled it, it might need to be updated to have really neutral walls throughout the house. Again, congratulations on your retirement. It's a great time to downsize. There is no inventory on the market. Your home will sell, but by doing these three things, it'll help increase the value.
